Note: This page is one of our online buyer's guides listing products that were selected to make Christmas more fun for the model railroader or holiday display village collector in your life. At first I was focusing on the trains, especially the Hawthorne VillageTM collectible trains, and only featuring a handful of the villages and structures that went with them. However, as time goes on, I've become aware of more and more display villages and accessories that deserve notice - especially villages with holiday themes. Hence this "More Holiday Villages" page. Most of the villages and accessories are made by Hawthorne VillageTM. All of them are of exceptional quality. (That said, the Thomas Kinkade Christmas villages are still on the Thomas Kinkade train page.) This page lists villages that may not fit in with a particular train set, but which may fit very well into your holiday collection. To see more pictures or to learn more about any of the villages shown here, simply click the "Buy" button. You're not actually obligated to purchase anything until you make your decision on the next page. Note about Suppliers: While we try to help you get the products you want by recommending suppliers with a good record of customer service, all transactions between you and the supplier you chose to provide your trains or other purchases are governed by the published policies on the supplier's web site. So please print off any order confirmation screens and save copies of invoices, etc., so you can contact the appropriate supplier should any problems occur. (They almost never do, but you want to be on the safe side.) Note about Availability: This is a reminder that "limited edition" means that none of the villages on this page will be available indefinitely. None of my readers has ever been disappointed with the quality of these products, but several have registered disappointment that they waited a month too long to get started on a collection. As we used to say when I was working my way through college at Radio Shack in the 1970s, "We can't make them here." Please take the "limited edition" nature of these collections into account when you are making your decisions. Update for 2013! Between 2011 and 2013, I had to take most of the villages off this page because Bradford Exchange had discontinued several and had introduced few new collections during the recession. Now more villages are becoming available, and we'll post the ones we like the best as we get a chance. That said, we notice that the villages in this category tend to come and go quickly, so please forgive us if we post the manufacturer's description rather than our own product reviews (which we try to do for the rest of the products in our buyers' guides). The fact is, more than once, by the time we got our hands on a colection, reviewed, and posted it, it was sold out, and we don't want to keep disappointing people who want a chance at these limited-edition collections. What we can say, universally, is this:
By the way, if you're an Elvis fan, you should know that a special sculpture celebrating Christmas at Graceland is available separately. Click on the little picture to the right for more information.
