My garden railroad is elevated ranging from 6 inches to 32 inches above ground. Hoping to discuss with other of similar experience what approach they used to hide the support structure.

Regarding your raised RR. lots of folks have used trestles or "Bob Treat Rocks" to camouflage the gap between a raised RR and the ground without increasing maintenance.
